Adobe de Palomares Wall Restoration

Adobe de Palomares in Pamona, California is a historical site that dates back to the early 1850s. It was built by a successful Hispanic rancher, Don Ygnacio Palomares and his wife, Dona Concepcion Lopez de Palomares.

The Palomares and Vejar families owned an area that is now most of eastern Los Angeles county. Their house reflected this wealth by having a blend of traditional adobe construction, and more modern roofing and flooring.

Since April 6, 1940, this home has been open to the public as a historical site, and is a part of the Historical and Social Science Framework.

It has gone through extensive restoration. A process that has not ended as time continues to wear on all things.

In November of 2003, Klaus Duebbert and a team of volunteers performed restorations to a number of Adobe walls that are at Adobe de Palomares.
